Obama names science advisors
Obama is finishing up his cabinet, and we have a science advisor who knows SCIENCE. I don't think Bush is the evil demon the loons want me to think he is, but there is no doubt that he is a little short on the scientific method. From limiting funds for stemcell research to taking 8 years to admit that the Earth really is warming up and we should probably try to do something about it.
This John Holdren guy is armpit-deep in global climate change, and frankly, I think there will be a lot of money to be made in green tech. Whether or not it will make much of a difference in the temperature here in Florida, who knows? But, but since we can't seem to make t-shirts or radios here anymore, and the American auto-industry is on the verge of collapse, we need to corner a market on SOMETHING, and maybe this is it.
Although, I'm thinking it's more likely that we'll figure out how to build it here, and then figure out how to make one half as good for 10 times as cheap somewhere else. At any rate, it'll still be nice to hear someone who understands real and legitimate processes of the universe more than he understands the babble that comes out of his pastor's mouth.
