Blast from the past
I came across a guy at work a couple weeks ago who still hadn't heard of the y2k superbike, so here it is for everyone else. Quick run down follows.
The crazy CRAZY guys at Marine Turbine, based in Florida, thought it would be cool to get a Rolls Royce Allison turbine engine from a HELICOPTER and build a high end motorcycle around it. Lots of carbon fiber later, they had a 300hp/425ft-lb monster that will scoot well in excess of 200mph and is in PRODUCTION. Granted, only 5 a year and I think that Leno had the first one. Stupid expensive, but extra cool.
