Huh wha?
Alright. Now I'm a big fan of eating sensibly and exercising, and so is everyone involved with weight loss, including the drug manufacturers who sell diet pills. But when I read an article suggesting to replace your diet pills with a bowl of oatmeal, I just have to chuckle. Yeah, I know it's an old article, but I still hear people make similar arguments from time to time.
Here's my problem with oatmeal. It tastes horrible unless you make it with lots of butter and sugar. All of a sudden, the soluble fiber isn't such a great deal. Same thing with lentils. I don't even eat salad, so it's likely that lentils are going to be served in an incredibly high starch meal for me. And so on. Oy.
