Whatever happened to MacGyver as a cultural icon?  Once upon a time, he was the symbol of ingenuity, the embodiment of perseverance, and now what?  I hear references to Jack Bauer and CSI all the time, but I can't remember the last time somebody got caught "MacGyvering" anything.  So here's a toast to my first TV hero!!
