Expendables

I can't wait to see the new movie, "Expendables," with Stallone and Statham.  Jason Stathom has really turned into one of my favorite Hollywood personalities since I first saw him across from Jet Li in "The One."  Ironically,  Stallone directed this movie, which more or less is expected to pay hommage to the 80s superheros I grew up with, yet in this article says that Batman spelled the beginning of the end for action hero movies.  True, special effects and complicated plots became much more important than they had been to the new gang of squeeky-voiced acne on neck socially awkward teens that made up a large part of the new viewing audience.  The rest of us, however, never fell out of favor with the classics; they fell out of favor with us.  I kept watching the old heroes over and over.  Predator, Commando, Demolition Man, Cobra, American Ninja, Best of the Best (1,2,AND 3),  Kickboxer, Bloodsport, Rambo, Roadhouse, etc, etc.  I'm hoping for just a little more of that in this new movie!!
